What was new:

This year for the first time we broadcasted lectures from 2 rooms - lectures on rabies by Gowri Yale from India, Mission Rabies in the Infectious Diseases stream and the Pain Symposium – it was also conducted for the first time as such. We registered more than 400 connections during the broadcast.

We also launched a new Anatomical Pathology stream and it turned out we have a lot of pathologists thirsty for knowledge.

Another innovation is the poster session. 15 participants could make announcements about their studies and demonstrate them on posters.

The Scientific Committee of NVC2019 selected 3 best works:

  1. Analysis of 108 cases of meningocephalitis of an unknown etiology in Russia, determination of the survival rate, prognostic factors and the most efficient treatment. Alexander Subbotin, Ksenia Bocharova.
  2. A clinical case of Toxoplasma gondii induced pneumonia in a cat receiving immunosuppressive therapy. Polina Mikhailovskaya.
  3. A geriatric rat patient in a clinic. Alexandra Vanina.

The Management stream focused on integration of human medicine communication skills and business processes into veterinary medicine.

The Interface stream worked for two full days this year, providing voice training, conflict resolution sessions and lectures by veterinary doctors.

The organizers of the Oncology stream tested a new format of joint lectures by two specialists: a surgical oncologist and a medical oncologist, and it was a great success.

The Intensive Care stream concentrated on the physiology of the cardiorespiratory system and discussed the Consensus statement on daily fluid therapy.

The Wild Nature Hospital project founded by enthusiast doctors to held wild animals of Russia was also presented at the exhibition for the first time. The NVC Organizational Committee supported this important initiative and, together with partners - GlobusVet and Gierth - decided to donate to it one of the most advanced X-ray machines for work in the field conditions. The gift will be handed over to the head of the hospital at VetCamp 2020. This is expensive equipment, so fund raising for its purchase is still ongoing.

We also raffled 16 tickets for VetCamp and NVC2020.

We are looking forward to seeing you at NVC 2020!
